The main floor is the social heart of the villa. A state-of-the-art kitchen features a professional Rational oven, combi oven, dual Gaggenau refrigerators with ice makers, dual dishwashers, and a Miele coffee machine. A 4-metre dining table seats 16 comfortably. The living area has a fireplace and 75-inch TV. A spacious entrance hall includes a bathroom with shower and a drying cabinet for ski gear. The top floor offers a large sitting area with serene mountain views, ideal for quieter moments away from the main gathering spaces.

Eight bedrooms across three floors. The master bedroom on the main floor has a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, and double showers. Two master bedrooms on the top floor each have double beds. On the lower level, two bedrooms with bunk beds. The private apartment on the lower level has three bedrooms — one double and two bunk bed rooms — with its own bathroom and sauna. Four bathrooms in total across the main house. All made up with luxury linen, towels, and Byredo bathroom amenities.

An outdoor jacuzzi on the main floor offers mountain views — ideal after a day on the slopes. The ski lift is 100 metres away. Cross-country tracks are 50 metres from the villa and snowmobile trails 200 metres. The surrounding wilderness is exceptional year-round — hiking and mountain biking in summer, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in winter. Guided activities including moose safaris, dog sledding, gastronomic hikes, and Northern Lights tours can be arranged through local partners.

Sälen Heights is located near Sälen's premier ski slopes in the heart of the Swedish mountains. The ski lift is 100 metres away, cross-country tracks 50 metres, and snowmobile trails 200 metres. Högfjällshotellet is 1 km away. Scandinavian Mountains Airport is approximately 15 minutes by car.

Sweden's first new airport in over 20 years, opened to serve the ski resorts of Sälen and Trysil directly. Situated on the Swedish-Norwegian border, the airport puts guests on the slopes faster than almost any comparable mountain destination in Europe: the transfer to Hundfjället takes around 10 minutes, Tandådalen 15 minutes, and Högfjället and Lindvallen around 20 to 25 minutes. Trysil in Norway is 40 minutes away. Direct routes operate seasonally from London, Manchester, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, Amsterdam, Brussels, Düsseldorf, and Stockholm, with airlines including SAS, easyJet, and TUI. The terminal is modern and compact, with a café, duty-free, and retail, and transfers are scheduled to connect with each arrival. For guests flying in from abroad, it removes the long drive that has historically been part of any Sälen trip and gets the holiday started considerably sooner.

The go-to destination in Sälen when you want a break from the slopes, or when the weather has other ideas. Experium sits in the heart of Lindvallen and brings together a water park with slides and adventure pools, a spa and sauna, bowling, billiards, an arcade, a cinema, a gym, and several restaurants and bars — all under one roof. It works well for a half-day with younger children who have had enough of skiing, and equally as an evening activity for the whole group. The spa side is quieter and more adult-oriented, good for recovery after a long day on the mountain. A natural anchor to any stay in Lindvallen, and the kind of place you end up visiting more than once during the week.

One of the most memorable things you can do in the Sälen mountains, and a genuinely different way to experience the landscape. Fjälläventyr runs guided husky tours from a meeting point near Gammelgården, just a short walk from Högfjällshotellet. Each group gets their own team of huskies and their own sled to drive, with a guide leading from the front throughout. The route heads above the tree line and out into open mountain terrain, stopping midway at Storfjällsgraven — one of Sälen's oldest mountain huts — for hot chocolate and waffles. The dogs are enthusiastic and the scenery is hard to forget. Tours run at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm daily from early December to late April, and last around 90 minutes. Book in advance, particularly during school holiday weeks.

Högfjället sits connected to Lindvallen by transport lifts, giving access to a combined network of 56 slopes and 48 lifts in the same area. The terrain at Högfjället itself is predominantly green and blue — wide, open slopes above the tree line with generous space and good mountain views — making it an excellent area for families skiing together or for those building confidence. Everything is within easy reach: the lifts, the slopes, ski hire and the hotels are all close together, with none of the spread that larger areas can have. Högfjällshotellet sits at its heart, making it easy to break for lunch or head straight in for après-ski when the day is done.

Even if you are not staying at Högis, it is worth an evening visit. The hotel houses over a dozen restaurants and bars, each with its own character, making it the most concentrated dining and nightlife destination in Sälen. TB Grill Room is the headline act — a proper steakhouse with a raw bar, serving the best cuts with no compromise. The Pianobar offers cocktails and champagne in a classic mountain setting with a pianist at the grand piano. Vinterträdgården is the hotel's centrepiece: a large event space with after-ski, live music, galamiddagar, and a party atmosphere that runs well into the evening. For something more intimate, Champagnehyllan is a reservable VIP area with seafood platters and views over the room. An evening here has a range and energy that few mountain destinations in Sweden can match.
